Flight to Ngloram Airport Moves to Pondok Cabe

INFOKU, BLORA - Halim Perdanakusuma Airport was closed as of January 1 because the revitalization had an impact on flight routes to a number of places.

One of them is the Citilink flight route from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to Ngloram Blora Airport, or vice versa.

The Regent of Blora, Arief Rohman, revealed that as a result of the closure of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, flight routes from or to Ngloram Airport will be moved to Pondok Cabe Airport.

"This latest information has been transferred to Pondok Cabe, starting this January. I have coordinated with Citilink to make sure," said Arief Rohman when met by Kompas.com at the Blora Regent's Office, Thursday (30/12/2021).

According to him, the flight route diversion is considered not to reduce the interest of prospective passengers to use this air transportation mode.

"I don't think it will affect Pondok Cabe because it's still close and it's still a prospect," he said

To note, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport will be closed starting January 1, 2022.

This closure is only temporary in the context of revitalization.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) Adita Irawati said civil or commercial aircraft flights currently operating at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport will be transferred to a number of other airports.

"The operations will be moved to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Pondok Cabe Airport, and Budiarto Curug Airport," he explained in a press statement.

However, Adita could not mention the exact time of transferring commercial flights from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.

According to him, the transfer process is still waiting for the issuance of a Presidential Regulation (Perpres) as the legal umbrella for the revitalization of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.

Therefore, the Ministry of Transportation is waiting for the approval process to be implemented immediately.

"The operational shift of civil aircraft is carried out after the issuance of the said Presidential Regulation," he said.

According to Adita, the revitalization of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport is indeed necessary to increase the flight safety factor at the airport. Among them will be repairs on the side of the runway and drainage system.

"The revitalization of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport is carried out in order to improve flight services and safety,"  he added. (EndahIST )
