However, the repair process was hampered by the position of the pipe which was quite deep under the surface of the Blora-Cepu national road.

"We're experiencing a leak in the main distribution system, specifically at the Kendilan Bridge. The damaged pipe is 16 inches in diameter," he told the press.

According to him, the HDPE pipe is suspected to have broken at a depth of around 6 to 8 meters.

This condition is related to the technical aspects of installing pipes using the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) method.

"The pipe was installed using horizontal directional drilling on the west side of the Kendilan Bridge. Because it's located quite deep, the repair process will take time," he explained.

Repairs are carried out using heavy equipment. Once the broken pipe section is successfully repaired, the connection will be made according to procedures for HDPE pipe.

Meanwhile, PDAM Customer and Public Relations Manager Ferry Budi Cahyanto told the press that the disruption had impacted around 7 thousand customers.

"The network serves four districts: Sambong, Jiken, Jepon, and Blora. We apologize to our customers for this disruption," he said.

Ferry said that the damage to the pipe could not have been predicted beforehand.

Because the pipe broke in the main network.
