INFOKU, BLORA -The excavation of the optical network along the Blora-Jepon route has come under scrutiny.
The finishing of a number of points is considered not to be up to standard and is feared to endanger road users.
The Head of the Traffic and Road Transportation (LLAJ) Section of the Blora Transportation Agency, Setyono, stated that the finishing conditions on the road are still far from specifications, despite it being a main traffic route.
"The reality on the ground is still far from specifications. This needs to be addressed as it could disrupt road users," he told the press.
Hadi Sutomo, Head of the Security and Safety Unit (Kamsel) of the Blora Police Traffic Unit, also highlighted the security of the work. Administratively, he stated that the documents were complete.
However, it turns out that the regional stakeholders are not yet aware of the existence of this work.q
"The administration is complete. But when we checked with the affected areas, the Jepon Sub-district Head, Jepon Police, and village heads were unaware," he said.
To reduce the risk of vehicles sinking, the implementer was asked to add stone material to the excavation area.
Warning banners will also be installed at the work site.
Blora DPRD member, Santoso Budi Susetyo said, road user safety must be a primary concern.
This is because excavations on the Blora-Jepon national route have often been complained about because they have the potential to cause accidents.
"We hear the public's concerns. Safety must be a priority. We want coordination to quickly resolve this issue and find a solution," he stressed.
Meanwhile, the Technical Staff of the Central Java-DIY BBPJN, Mulyanto, said that his party continues to carry out supervision.
The implementer is asked to repair the fill material and ensure that the excavation is compacted according to Highways regulations.
"The compaction equipment has been deployed. We'll check again, possibly three times a week. The target is completion in September," he explained.
Besides excavations, the Kidangan Jepon Bridge is also a concern. The bridge is far from standard and is frequently crossed by pedestrians.
Currently, his party continues to propose widening the route.
"It's about six meters wide, while the standard is 7.71 meters. Widening is hampered by land on the left and right sides and the presence of PDAM pipes," he concluded. ( Endah / IST )
