Ahead of President Jokowi's arrival, Minister of Environment and Forestry inspects Social Forestry Locations

 INFOKU, BLORA  –Siti Nurbaya, who serves as Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK) visited Blora last Saturday (4/3).

The visit inspected the location of the application of social forestry in the Randublatung District area. It is planned that the location will be visited by President Joko Widodo this week.

Siti Nurbaya revealed that social forestry is President Jokowi's concern. Especially for village people who live around the forest.

The goal is that they can be more empowered economically. However, the forest is also sustainable to be protected along with a variety of plant commodities that have economic value.

"We are here to prepare several alternative locations to be visited by the President. While checking the readiness of the field,''he said.

Blora Regent Arief Rohman explained that the Ministry of Environment and Forestry together with  relevant stakeholders  are preparing two alternative locations for the president's visit regarding social forestry.

The first alternative is in Jati District and the second alternative is in Randublatung District.

“Everything is in the southern part of Blora. In the villages on the edge of the forest area that will be turned into a social forestry area,'' he said.

Currently, the exact location of the visit has not yet been agreed upon. Because waiting for palace protocol approval.

It is certain that President Joko Widodo will be present to hand over the social forestry management decree to the forest farmer group community.

"His plan is to come on March 10, Friday next week," he said.

According to Arief, in addition to working visits related to social forestry, the president is also scheduled to hand over land certificates for building use rights (HGB) and land use rights for Wonorejo, Cepu District.

"So on March 10 there are two agendas for the President. Apart from Social Forestry, there was also the handover of land certificates for the Wonorejo Cepu area. The Deputy Minister of ATR BPN also came to Blora to review the land registration process that was being carried out at the Cepu District Office Hall. So later those who have  work will be  the Ministry of Environment and Forestry and the Ministry of ATR and National Land Agency," he added.

Arief revealed that he would convey to the president the development plans for Blora Regency in the future. Particularly to oversee road infrastructure development proposals which he is currently proposing to enter the Road Instructions at the Ministry of PUPR.  (Endah/IST)
