INFOKU,BLORA – Unexpectedly, when the teaching and learning activities (KBM) were taking place, the ceiling of the classroom at SMPN 1 Todanan, Ngumbul Village, Todanan District, Blora Regency, collapsed.
The collapse of the gypsum ceiling fell on four students of class 7G, causing them to be injured.
It is known, the incident occurred on Friday (3/3/2023) at around 09.00 WIB.
According to Todanan 1 Middle School Principal, Totok Sunarto, the ceiling collapsed during class hours.
"The incident occurred yesterday, Friday (3/3/2023) during the KBM process around 09:00 WIB," he told.

He explained, based on information from one of the teachers who taught at that hour, there were no signs of damage to the ceiling in the classroom.
"So yes, there are no signs of damage at all, said the teacher who taught, at first there was the sound of rats on the ceiling, grumbling, after a while, the eastern ceiling collapsed, then another ceiling followed," he said.
"So the collapse was not simultaneous, so the students could be evacuated," he added.
4 students were injured. He said, there were 4 students who were eventually crushed because their sitting position was close to the table.
"And thank God the student was not seriously injured. Medical treatment has been carried out by the Todanan Health Center after the incident," he said.
This is not the first time the ceiling collapse has occurred at his school.
"So here there are two classrooms whose ceilings have collapsed, namely class 7G and class 8G. Class 8G collapsed in December 2022 during school holidays," he explained.
It is hoped that with this incident, the relevant agencies will immediately take action so that something like this does not happen again.
"Therefore, I hope that action will soon be taken from the relevant agencies. I feel sorry for the students, their learning process will be disrupted," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Kasi Sarpras of the Blora Education Office, Catur Januarti said, from the results of a review of the classrooms, that the construction of the ceiling framework was still good.
"It's just that the ceiling material is gypsum which is prone to water," he said. So, for the future we will try to make the palfon material from stronger kasibot. And we will convey the results of this review to the leadership," he added. (Endah / IST )
