INFOKU, BLORA - TheBlora Regency Government cooperates with the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) of Central Java, to collaborate on integrated drug and food supervision, Thursday (30/12/2021).

This is a form of attention from the Blora Regency Government to improve the quality of public health which continues to be realized.

One of them is by increasing the supervision of the quality of food and drugs that are circulated and traded for the public.

The signing of the MoU between the two parties was carried out directly by the Regent H. Arief Rohman, with the Head of BPOM Central Java, Sandra Sandra Maria Philomena Linthin.

The signing was carried out in the Regent's Meeting Room on the 2nd floor of the Blora Secretariat Complex, accompanied by Deputy Regent Tri Yuli Setyowati, ST, MM, and related OPD.

“Bismillahirohmanirrohim, Sesarengan mBangun Blora with BPOM Central Java. In the future, we want the quality of medicines and food circulating in Blora Regency to be really healthy and safe for the people of Blora, especially the growth and development of our children," said the Regent.

The Regent also said that in Blora this is a culinary warehouse, and the center of food potential that can be processed into a variety of processed food products.

"So with this we hope that there will also be assistance from BPOM to the community, traders, or business entities, to MSMEs that produce food and trade traditional medicines," continued the Regent.

To follow up on the Regent's hopes, after the signing of the MoU, it was immediately followed by the signing of a cooperation agreement (PKS) between BPOM and 4 agencies to sharpen the field of cooperation.

Among them are PKS with the Dindagkop UKM regarding Supervision of Processed Food Circulation Facilities. Then PKS with the Education Office on Supervision of Food Safety for School Age Snacks, PKS with the Health Office on Drug and Food Control, and PKS with the PMD Service on Empowering Village Communities through the Village Food Safety Movement Program.

The signing of the PKS was carried out by the Head of BPOM Central Java with each Head of Department/OPD, witnessed by Regent Arief Rohman and Deputy Regent Tri Yuli Setyowati.

The head of BPOM Central Java, Sandra MPL, welcomed the MoU and PKS in Blora Regency.

According to him, efforts to control drugs and food will not be maximized if it is only carried out by BPOM, so it must involve relevant stakeholders. Which in this case is the Regional Government.

“Blora is one of 7 districts in Central Java that has received intervention from BPOM in drug and food control. Alhamdulillah, with this MoU, the collaboration can be expanded through the 4 PKS that have been agreed. We are ready to support and realize the hope of the Regent, so that the people of Blora can maintain their health,” said Sandra.

He said that in Central Java there were already 50 schools that we intervened to conduct an assessment of the safety of their school snacks, 6 of which were in Blora Regency.

"And as a result, these 6 schools in Blora succeeded in obtaining food and snacks safety certificates, hopefully in the future we can upgrade them to more schools," said Sandra.

As for the village food security movement, according to him, in Blora, two villages have been intervened, namely Geneng Village and Tempuran Village.

By forming food safety cadres taken from the PKK and Karang Taruna, they are tasked with providing food safety education to the community.

"We hope that in the future it can continue to be added to other villages. The following is the supervision of food circulation in markets, supermarkets and others. Especially for medicines, there are currently many traditional medicines that are said to be effective in treating Covid-19, so we will monitor their quality. In addition, there are also rampant strong drugs for men, this also needs to be closely monitored," he said.

His party admitted that they are ready to provide non-physical DAK budget assistance to support the operation of socialization and education on food and drug control in Blora Regency. (Setyorini/KOM)
