INFOKU, BLORA – Around 2,900 children in Blora are not attending school (ATS).
This figure is down from initial data of 3,869 children after data verification and matching.
Blora Education Office Secretary Nuril Huda said the reduction occurred because duplicate data was found or children were already recorded in other databases.

"From the last released data of 3,869 children, after we verified and matched the data, we discovered several duplicate names already recorded elsewhere. This reduced the number to around 2,900 children," he said.
The Department of Education is now mapping ATS based on each individual's conditions.
One of them is children with special needs (ABK), of which there are more than a thousand children and who require special education services.
Meanwhile, ATS who drop out of school or do not continue their education will be directed back to educational services.
Apart from formal schools, equivalent education pathways through SKB and non-formal institutions are also options.
Next year, the Education Office also plans to launch a Disability Services Unit (ULD). This service will target children with special needs who have difficulty accessing special education schools (SLB).

"At the very least, there will be services through home visits, because not all children can attend special needs schools. The number of schools is limited, and access is also a challenge," Nuril explained.
ATS handling will be carried out in stages based on verification results and the capabilities of available educational services. (Endah/ IST )
