INFOKU, BLORA -The construction of three reservoirs in Blora was cancelled this year.
The reason is that the Central Java Bankeuprov budget of around IDR 9 billion is affected by efficiency.
This was revealed by the Head of SDA DPUPR Blora Surat, that the budget was originally prepared for the construction of three reservoirs in Blora Regency.
However, his party received information that the budget was diverted for other infrastructure needs.
"We proposed it at the beginning of the year. But in June, we received information that the budget would be affected by efficiency measures or refocusing," he told the press.
The letter explains that the three reservoirs are planned to be located in Temulus and Wulung Villages, Randublatung District, and Adirejo Village, Tunjungan District.
With a total of 191 hectares of agricultural land projected to benefit.
"The Temulus reservoir is predicted to irrigate 140 hectares, the Wulung reservoir 31 hectares, and the Adirejo reservoir 20 hectares. The district government will again propose a budget for the construction of these three reservoirs in stages from 2027 to 2028," he said.
The letter also said that the existence of water reservoirs is important to deal with drought.
Collected rainwater can be used during the dry season, especially for irrigation and the community's raw water needs.
Blora currently has three reservoirs and 78 ponds. However, some reservoirs are experiencing drought, while some reservoirs are already fully utilized.
"We are prioritizing water storage optimization. During the rainy season, the overflow can be maximally accommodated for agricultural needs, raw water, and to help control flooding," he concluded. (Endah/ IST )
