INFOKU, BLORA –There are 11 villages in Blora that still do not have a definitive village head (kades).
The vacant position will be temporarily filled by the acting village head so that the village government can continue to run smoothly.
Yayuk Windrati, Head of the Blora Community and Village Empowerment Agency (PMD), stated that previously, 13 villages had vacancies in village head positions. However, that number has now decreased to 11.
"Currently, there are 11 villages that are empty," he told the press.
The eleven villages are spread across several sub-districts. These are Berbak Village, Ngawen District; Ngapus, Kalinanas, and Ngiyono Villages, Japah District; Nglebur Village, Jiken District; Sendangwungu Village, Banjarejo District; Gombang Village, Bogorejo District; Ketuwan Village, Kedungtuban District; Sendangharjo Village, Blora District; Mojorembun Village, Kradenan District; and Bakah Village, Kunduran District.
Yayuk explained that the village government continues to operate even though the village head position is vacant.
For the time being, these villages are led by Acting Village Heads whose proposals are made through the sub-district heads in each region.
"For the time being, the position is still filled by an acting officer, the proposal comes from the sub-district head," he explained.

Blora Regency is known to have 271 villages. Of the villages that previously had vacant village heads, two have completed filling the positions through interim village head elections (PAW).
The two villages, Sitirejo Village in Tunjungan District, and Genjahan Village in Jiken District, now have village heads elected through replacement village heads with terms of office until 2031.
Meanwhile, other villages have not yet conducted a replacement. One consideration relates to the remaining term of office.
Because, in 2027, simultaneous village head elections are scheduled to be held in Blora Regency.
This condition is a consideration for candidates who wish to participate in PAW.
The remaining term of office is considered to be one of the factors that has prevented a number of villages from carrying out this process.
"Others didn't apply for a replacement due to various considerations. Candidates felt they were being disadvantaged because it would only be for one term, while simultaneous village head elections will be held in 2027," he concluded. (Endah/ IST )
