INFOKU, BLORA – A major impact occurred in Blora following the mass deactivation of BPJS Contribution Assistance Recipient (PBI) participants in 2026.
Meanwhile, PBI is widely known among the public as free JPS.
Tens of thousands of citizens suddenly changed their participant status after the government adjusted national social assistance data.
Deputy Chairperson of the Blora DPRD, Lanova Chandra Tirtaka, confirmed that his party would intervene to monitor the issue.
The DPRD has coordinated with a number of related agencies to ensure that affected communities receive immediate solutions.
"We have coordinated with the Health Office, Social Services Office, and the Blora BPJS Kesehatan (Social Security Agency). We must ensure that the lower classes are not disadvantaged by changes to the data system," he said.
The Gerindra politician emphasized that his party is ready to take the issue to the central government.
Including conveying community aspirations to the Ministry of Social Affairs.
According to him, validation of data on inactive PBI participants must be expedited so that truly eligible citizens can continue to receive health insurance.
"We want people who truly deserve it to continue receiving healthcare. We must not let the common people become victims," he stressed.
The deactivation of PBI participants occurred after the government migrated the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS) to the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN).
In the new system, only people in decile 1 to decile 5 are entitled to receive BPJS contribution assistance.
The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) determines the deciles as a basis for classifying the welfare levels of social assistance recipients.
This change in classification resulted in some residents losing their PBI participant status.
BPJS Kesehatan data as of May 1, 2026, recorded 93,785 PBI participants in Blora Regency as inactive. Meanwhile, there were 372,577 active participants.
Meanwhile, Head of the Pati BPJS Kesehatan Branch, Nuzulul Hasan, told the press that the National Health Insurance (JKN) coverage in Blora has now reached 96.8 percent.
However, the level of participant activity is still at 68.8 percent.
"This means there are still people who are not yet active in BPJS Health membership," he said.
He stated that, based on February 2026 data, there were approximately 35,000 BPJS PBI participants in Blora whose memberships had been deactivated. Some of these have now been reactivated.
"According to April data, the number of PBI participants deactivated has increased to 490," he said.
Nuzulul explained that people who truly need it, especially those with chronic illnesses and the poor, can apply for reactivation through the village government, the Social Services Agency, and the Ministry of Social Affairs before finally being reactivated by BPJS Kesehatan.
"Now the process is faster. On average, it can be completed within a day thanks to cross-agency coordination," he explained. (Endah/ IST )
