PT GMM Blora Only Facilitates Sugar Cane Sales Due to Machine Damage

INFOKU. BLORA –The PT Gendhis Multi Manis (GMM) sugar factory is forced to stop milling this year.

The company under Perum Bulog can only facilitate the sale of sugar cane.

Blora Deputy Regent Sri Setyorini explained that PT GMM could not mill because there was machine damage, so for the time being, repairs had to be funded through the APBN.

Under these conditions, it is impossible for the repair budget to be released immediately and there must be a long process.

Moreover, repairing or buying a boiler machine is not a small amount.

"I believe it because the budget won't just appear suddenly. There's a process," explained the Deputy Regent.

Meanwhile, in the dialogue, the farmers wanted one hundred percent of their sugarcane harvest to be purchased at government prices.

"Farmers essentially want price certainty from the government for the May 2026 harvest in Blora Regency. Then, the sugarcane will be fully absorbed," he said.

Candidate for Operational Director (Dirop) of PT GMM, Andin Cholid, confirmed that the sugar factory he will lead will not be able to mill this year due to problems.

Technically, he continued, the sugarcane sold to PT GMM by farmers will be resold to other sugar mills. However, he couldn't yet confirm the exact delivery date.

"In the short term, we need to make concrete efforts to ensure that farmers' sugarcane is accepted by other sugar mills," Andin told the press. (Endah/ IST )
