Finally, the Blora Regent Cuts Internet Spending for All Departments and Sub-districts

INFOKU, BLORA - An evaluation of the Blora Regency Government's internet usage has been carried out in all departments, agencies, hospitals and sub-districts, Thursday (16/4/2026) in the Regional Secretariat Meeting Room.

As a result, it is estimated that more than half a billion in the internet budget will be cut, from the original internet budget for the whole figure of around Rp. 2.5 billion, which will fall to around Rp. 1.9 billion.

This was conveyed by Blora Regent Arief Rohman when giving his official statement after leading the meeting.

"Regarding the internet issue yesterday, I mentioned that we're holding a meeting today. The Rp 2.5 billion is actually for all regional government agencies (OPD) and sub-districts. I asked for efficiency measures, and this came to Rp 1.9 billion," the Regent explained.

Regarding the details, including the details of the OPDs that will undergo efficiency related to the internet budget, more details will be provided later.

The Regent also requested that this reduction not reduce services to the public.

"Hopefully, this won't reduce service, as it's spread across all OPDs and sub-districts," he explained.

Regarding the budget resulting from this efficiency, it will be recalculated, including being used to support priority programs from the central government and improve infrastructure in Blora.

Capcut & Canva Apps

The meeting also discussed subscriptions to video editing (Capcut) and design (Canva) applications in one of the departments. It was also conveyed that the subscriptions should be stopped and no further budgets should be made for them in the future.

Head of the Blora Communication and Information Agency, Pratikto Nugroho, revealed that in order to ensure budget efficiency for internet network usage, standardization limits will be implemented.

"The Regent and the Regional Secretary have adopted a policy to ensure efficient use of the internet network. Therefore, it was decided that there would be standardized usage limits for sub-districts and regional government agencies," he explained.

"So, for regional government agencies (OPD), the usage limit is only around 100 Mbps, and for sub-districts, it's 50 Mbps. The same applies to regional coordinators, community health centers, and others, especially those directly involved in public services, so they still need to be adequate," Pratikto explained.

Furthermore, several OPDs that use/have servers must also be secured because we can still use important data from ministries and so on.

Pratikto emphasized that this policy will be implemented immediately and will be evaluated later.

"And if it turns out this has an impact on public services, we will certainly re-evaluate. Because, in principle, our efforts are aimed at public service," he added.

Regarding wifi facilities in a number of public areas, in addition to support from the Communication and Information Service, in the future it is also planned to involve CSR with several parties to provide internet networks in public areas.

This also simplifies Wi-Fi login access for people in public areas. (Endah/KOM)
