INFOKU, BLORA –Finally, 3 people were named as suspects by the Special Criminal Research Directorate of the Central Java Regional Police in the illegal activities at a number of points, with.
This is related to the practice of illegal oil drilling which was again uncovered in the Blora area.
"This disclosure is the result of an investigation into public reports regarding illegal drilling activities in several locations in Blora and Rembang," explained the Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Djoko Julianto, to the press.
The first discovery was made on March 3, 2026, on Perhutani land in Nglencong Hamlet, Botorejo Village, Kunduran District. During the operation, police arrested a suspect with the initials S, 50.
"We took initial action in the Kunduran area, Blora, by securing one perpetrator at the drilling location," he explained.
The case continued on April 6, 2026. Police again discovered similar activity at the Ngiri RPH in Blora, and at an oil storage facility in Sendangmulyo Village, Rembang. From these two locations, officers arrested two other suspects, B, 34, and K, 51.
"These three perpetrators acted as managers and financiers of illegal drilling activities," Djoko emphasized.

In carrying out their operations, the perpetrators used a method that pretended their activities were legal. They exploited regulatory loopholes under the guise of community well management cooperation.
"In fact, they don't have a valid cooperation contract or business permit," he said.
The oil from illegal drilling is not distributed to the state through PT Pertamina, but is instead sold freely for personal gain.
"The oil produced is sold to other parties without going through official mechanisms, thereby causing losses to the state," he added.
Police seized various pieces of evidence at the scene, including a rig tower, a pumping machine, dozens of drill pipes, a drilling machine, and a 1,000-liter crude oil storage tank.
"We also secured evidence of sales transactions that strengthen the suspicion of a criminal act," he said.
For their actions, the suspects are charged under Article 52 of Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas, as amended by the Job Creation Law. They face a maximum sentence of six years in prison and a fine of up to Rp 60 billion.
"This criminal threat is a form of the state's seriousness in dealing with crimes in the energy sector," he stressed.

The Central Java Regional Police emphasized that they will continue to crack down on similar practices, especially in vulnerable areas like Blora. Besides causing losses to the state, these activities also impact the environment.
