INFOKU, BLORA - It seems that the phenomenon of land subsidence in Buluroto Village, Banjarejo still has the potential to occur.
Field monitoring shows that the depth has now reached 2 meters from the initial surface.
The cracks even continued to move closer to residential areas.
Head of Water Resources (SDA) of the Blora Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency ( DPUPR ) , Surat, said that handling has been carried out and has now reached around 90 percent.

One of them is the installation of gabion retaining walls on the banks of the Lusi River .
"The process of constructing gabion retaining walls is underway. The riverbanks have been addressed," he said.
From a preliminary study, the main cause is suspected to be the environmental drainage system which is not directly connected to the river.
As a result, water from residential areas seeps into the ground and makes the soil saturated.
"Water seeps in and spreads, so the ground becomes saturated and triggers subsidence," he explained.
DPUPR Blora also coordinated with BBWS Pemali Juana .
However, until now there has been no special study due to budget limitations.
As a result, the target for stopping the land subsidence cannot be achieved.
"A special study hasn't been conducted because funding isn't available. We're assessing the situation based on the existing conditions and taking action to the best of our ability," he said.

He also stated that his team would continue to monitor developments after the gabion installation. If they were ineffective, other technical measures would be considered.
"We'll see the impact. If it can be stopped, thank God. If not, we'll take other technical steps," Surat emphasized.
Regarding the proposed budget for unexpected costs (BTT), the Blora DPUPR has not yet submitted it.
The letter states that this authority lies with the Blora Regency Government .
"Meanwhile, for BTT, it can be confirmed with the District Government, through BPPKAD or the Regional Secretary," he added.
Citizen Complaints
Meanwhile, residents are already feeling the impact of the landslide. Cracks extend across nine homes, damaging three of them: those belonging to Sriyono, Peny, and Sayid.
Sriyono, one of the affected residents, admitted that he had moved his house 3 meters in December 2025.
He also bought four acres of fill to support the building, but the ground continued to shift.
"I jack up the house every two days. I've moved it, but it still moves," he complained.
Peny, another resident whose house was affected, experienced something similar.
Now, he admits, the ground subsidence in his house has reached a depth of 2 meters.
He has already used six rits of fill soil and plans to add more.
"I've finished six trips. Here's another order," he said.
Masdukin, another affected resident, installed bamboo retaining walls as an emergency measure.
Because the crack is now only about 2 meters from his house.
"If it rains heavily, the subsidence can reach 10 centimeters a day. We're very worried," he said.
Similarly, Takin, another local resident, felt worried because the crack was only half a meter from his house.
"I hope the government will immediately build drainage that connects directly to the river to stop the landslide," he requested. (Endah/ IST )
