Ngawen Market is expected to be completed by June 2026, with a budget of IDR 30 billion.

 INFOKU, BLORA -Since November 2025, with a budget of IDR 30 billion from the State Budget, Ngawen Market, Blora has been rebuilt and is expected to be completed by June 2026. 

Ngawen Market, Blora, was rebuilt after a fire on January 9, 2024, causing losses of Rp30.69 billion. 

Deputy Regent of Blora, Sri Setyorini, directly reviewed the progress of the reconstruction of the Ngawen Main Market, Wednesday (11/2/2026).

This is done to ensure that the work runs safely, smoothly, and according to the set time targets.

During the visit, which was accompanied by the Assistant Regional Secretary of Blora, the relevant OPD ranks, were also representatives from the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure of the Ministry of PUPR, led by the Head of Sub-Directorate Region II of the IDPPKOSB Directorate of the Directorate General of Strategic Infrastructure, Dendy Kurniadi.

On that occasion, Dendy Kurniadi said that the construction progress continues to be accelerated so that it can be completed ahead of the contract schedule.

"We are targeting the roof to be installed by the Eid al-Fitr holiday, and the market construction will be completed by July 2026. We are even aiming for completion by June so that the public can immediately use the market during the school holidays," explained Dendy.

He said that in addition to the construction of the market building, the project also includes addressing the problem of waterlogging in residential areas around the market.

In the future, a drainage channel will be built that is directly connected to the river to reduce the risk of flooding during the rainy season.

"It turns out that during the rainy season, the village next to the market is often flooded, so we built a drainage channel that connects directly to the river," he said.

Meanwhile, during a direct visit to the field, Deputy Regent Sri Setyorini emphasized the importance of coordination between parties so that any obstacles in the field can be resolved immediately without hindering development progress.

"We hope all work will proceed smoothly and effectively. If any issues arise, please communicate them immediately and coordinate them so that construction targets can be achieved on time," he advised project implementers.

It is known that the Ngawen Market, which burned down on January 9, 2024, was rebuilt using a state budget of IDR 30 billion, with a work implementation period of 240 calendar days or approximately 8 months.

Construction began in mid-November 2025 and is targeted for completion in July 2026 according to the work contract.

Currently, work is focused on soil compaction, erecting the building's main structural pillars, casting the floors, and constructing clean water and drainage channels. (Endah)
