INFOKU, BLORA –A crude oil storage facility in Dukuh Gendono, Gandu Village, Bogorejo District, Blora Regency, caught fire on Tuesday (6/1/2026) at around 15.40 WIB.
The incident of the oil storage tank burning was recorded by residents who were around the location.
The fire incident was then brought under control and is currently out.
"The villagers claimed that the tank was used to collect crude oil, and it caught fire, which was then extinguished by the residents, and the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) also helped extinguish it. It has now been extinguished," said Blora Deputy Police Chief, Commissioner Slamet Riyanto, when met by the press near the location, Tuesday (6/1/2026).
His party is also still recording the number of oil storage tanks that caught fire.
"Whether the tank actually contains oil or crude oil, our colleagues are still in the field, collecting evidence. We will check later to see if it is used oil or actually stored oil," he said.
In addition, the police are still investigating the cause of the fire at the oil storage facility at the location.
"The cause of the fire is currently still being investigated, as the source of the fire and the cause of the fire are still being briefed," he explained.
He explained that the distance between the oil reservoir and the fire was approximately 300 meters from the location of the oil well that had caught fire in August 2025.
He added that the distance between the burning oil storage area and residential areas was not too far.
