We express our gratitude and appreciation to ITB for their cooperation with the Blora Regency Government. This is extraordinary development support for us," said Regent Arief Rohman, beginning his remarks.

We are directing the development of Blora Regency towards realizing community welfare through advanced and sustainable development, while remaining rooted in local potential," he said.

According to him, the development of Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) is part of the transformation towards a green and low-carbon economy.

For Blora Regency, CCUS is not just a global agenda, but a strategic opportunity to manage regional potential responsibly, with added value, and with a long-term orientation," he added.

The Regent explained that, as a region with potential in the energy sector and a strong agricultural base, Blora views CCUS as a collaborative space between technology, policy, and community interests.

Therefore, we hope this collaboration will not stop at conceptual studies, but will develop into applied research and pilot regional policies integrated with development planning," he said.

We believe that the Blora Biochar and Carbon Farming Hub plan aligns with the region's needs, as it not only contributes to reducing carbon emissions but also provides direct benefits to the community, particularly farmers and local businesses, through increased productivity and added value based on environmentally friendly technology.

On the other hand, the regent continued, sustainable development for Blora Regency is not only an effort to protect the environment, but also a commitment to preserving identity and cultural heritage.

One of our cultural riches is the Barongan art, which contains historical, social, spiritual values, and local wisdom of the Blora people," he explained.

Therefore, the effort to propose Barongan as an Intangible Cultural Heritage is a form of responsibility of the regional government in maintaining the sustainability of cultural values amidst the current of modernization.

For us, Barongan is not just a performing art, but a representation of the relationship between humans and nature, social solidarity, and the values of sustainability that have lived in the Blora community," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Prof. Sanggono Adisasmito, Head of the Center for Carbon Dioxide and Flare Gas Utilization at ITB, welcomed the presence of the Regent and his entourage on the ITB campus.

I once helped Ponorogo to achieve international recognition for its Reog, and I am certainly ready to help Blora elevate its Barongan to international recognition," he said enthusiastically.
