Over the past seven months, 37 fires have occurred in Blora, with firefighting hampered by outdated equipment.

INFOKU, BLORA –There have been 37 fire incidents in Blora Regencyinthe last seven months. 

The average cause of fires is electrical short circuits, plus the average house is made of wood, so it is easily burned.

In addition, fire fighting facilities and infrastructure need to be rejuvenated.

Hariyanto Purnomo, Head of the Blora Public Order Agency's Fire and Rescue Division (Kabid) revealed that data compiled from January to July of this year recorded 37 fires, including those affecting homes and livestock pens.

Electrical short circuits still dominate the causes.

“There are some due to  human error , but the majority "Because of an electrical short circuit," he said.

He explained that the majority of residents' houses were made of wood, which was one of the reasons why fire could easily spread, accelerating the fire.

"Because the house is wooden, it is easily burned," he added.

He continued, explaining that his team has several posts to mitigate fires, where firefighting equipment and infrastructure are stationed. The Ngawen Post is the area where fires frequently occur.

For the large Ngawen Post area, the Ngawen Post covers the Kunduran, Japah, and Banjarejo Districts," he explained.

He said that officers often encounter obstacles due to difficult road conditions.

Meanwhile, the budget intervention disbursed from this year's APBD is not yet available.

So, officers maximize the existing equipment.

There has been no budget included for this year," he said.

When asked about firefighter personnel, he admitted that there was a shortage of officers at the Randublatung Post and one firefighter and one tanker truck.
