Schools and Community Health Centers Will Still Receive Priority Internet Services Amidst Efficiency Measures

INFOKU, BLORA - The Blora district government has begun implementing internet budget efficiency measures, with a standardized approach to usage across all regional apparatus organizations (OPD) down to the sub-district level.

The Head of the Blora Communication and Informatics Agency (Dinkominfo), Pratikto Nugroho, said this step was an effort to reduce spending without sacrificing the quality of public services.

This policy follows up on directives from Blora Regent Arief Rohman and the Regional Secretary to ensure more measured and efficient internet usage. Based on the evaluation, a maximum internet usage limit was established for each agency.

"We've decided to standardize it. For regional government agencies (OPDs), the maximum is 100 Mbps, while for sub-districts, it's 50 Mbps. This is to ensure more controlled and prevent excessive usage," he explained.

These restrictions aren't being implemented rigidly. Several service units that interact directly with the public, such as community health centers and education regional offices, will still be prioritized to ensure their internet network needs are met.

"We'll continue to provide direct services. So, this efficiency doesn't mean cutting across the board, but rather adjusting to needs," he stressed.

Furthermore, regional government agencies (OPDs) that own servers and manage critical data from ministries continue to receive special attention. According to Pratikto, network security and stability for these needs must not be compromised, even with budget cuts.

This policy also targets other supporting expenditures that are considered non-priority.

During the evaluation, it was discovered that one of the agencies had subscriptions to applications such as CapCut and Canva.

Going forward, these subscriptions are being asked to be terminated as part of the budget adjustment.

Pratikto confirmed that this policy will be implemented immediately and its impact will be continuously monitored. If a decline in service quality is found, his team will be open to evaluation.

"If it impacts service, we will definitely evaluate it. The principle remains that public service is paramount," he said. (Endah/ IST )
