Confessions of Siti Kalimah who entrusted Irham to achieve her dreams through the People's School

INFOKU, BLORA -For Siti Kalimah, she now places great hope in the People's School. 

With a background as a farmer and economic limitations, he believes that education is the main path for his son, Irham Maulana, to achieve a better future.

This was conveyed by Siti Kalimah, a resident of Banjarejo, Blora during the Blora People's School Student Admission event, Wednesday (16/7/2025) at the Blora Regency Hall.

He attended with his son, Irham Maulana, who is a student at Blora 18 Senior High School (SRMA).

Siti Kalimah also expressed her gratitude for the existence of the People's School which has opened the way for children from underprivileged families to continue to receive quality education.

He is aware that his abilities are limited, but he believes that his son can be independent and change the family's fate through education.

"The motivation for the children is to be independent and achieve their dreams. Because I think I'm limited, sir. My abilities are limited. To the President, Mr. Prabowo, thank you," he said, full of emotion.

The People's School Program exists as a concrete form of the state's presence in opening up access to decent education for all the nation's children, regardless of economic background.

Irham, who is also an alumnus of SMPN 5 Blora from Banjarejo, was filled with anxiety when he first entered the People's School dormitory.

But in just two days, that doubt turned into enthusiasm.

"I've been in the dorm for two days now, and I feel happy. I was afraid I'd be bullied at home, but it turns out I wasn't. My friends are all nice," Irham said.

He is now ready to study at the People's School to realize his dream of becoming a police officer.

Furthermore, one of the students, Nuril, expressed a sense of comfort. She admitted to feeling at ease when meeting new friends in the dormitory.

"Meeting friends from various regions makes me feel happy and joyful. It's great to be able to gather and share stories with new friends. We can share our stories at night. The teachers are all nice too," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMRA Tri Yuli S, revealed that all facilities for students at the People's School are available. Including teaching staff/teachers, foster parents, etc.

He said that the learning process had already begun.

"We would like to report that we have commenced learning on July 14, 2025, beginning with a health check," he said.

Meanwhile, Blora Regent Arief Rohman hopes that education at the People's School will produce a generation with character.

"We certainly hope that this specially designed learning will be grounded and capable of producing a generation of our young people who are not only academically intelligent, but also possess strong character, social awareness, and are ready to face the challenges of the times," he concluded.

The People's School currently has 50 students, comprising 17 boys and 33 girls. The People's School in Cepu is a two-story building equipped with various supporting facilities. (Setyorini)
