INFOKU, BLORA - The police successfully arrested the suspected perpetrator of subsidized LPG smuggling on the Cepu -Blora Highway last Saturday (15/3).
The perpetrators brought 308 melon LPG cylinders from East Java which were to be sold in Central Java.
Currently, the perpetrator with the initials DS has been secured at the Blora Police Headquarters. The police are still investigating to uncover other parties involved.
"The perpetrator is currently being held at the Police, along with evidence in the form of hundreds of subsidized LPG cylinders," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Blora Police, AKP Selamet yesterday (16/3).
He explained that DS was a resident of Jepon District, Blora Regency.
The perpetrator carried out his actions at night, driving a pickup truck.
Containing 308 LPG gas cylinders which were suspected of being distributed in the Central Java region.
"The LPG that was secured by officers was still sealed," he said.
The arrests began with information from the public regarding alleged misuse of subsidized LPG distribution.
Following up on this information, the Blora Police Criminal Investigation Unit Team conducted an investigation.
Finally, police officers arrested DS on the Blora-Cepu highway, on Saturday (15/3) at 22.00 WIB.
With the 308 subsidized LPG cylinders carried, the perpetrators earned a profit of IDR 44.3 million.
Meanwhile, state losses are estimated to reach IDR 199.5 million.
Selamet emphasized that his party is committed to completing the case.
Currently, his party is still conducting further investigations to deepen the case. Because, it is suspected that the perpetrator did not carry out his actions alone.
"We will conduct further investigations, we will still look into the possibility of other parties being involved," he said.
He appealed to the public not to misuse goods subsidized by the government.
Because, it can harm the lower class who should receive the subsidy.
Of course, if taken from East Java, the subsidy quota in that region has the potential to decrease.
"This case is a warning to the public not to misuse subsidized goods," he concluded. (Endah/ IST )
