1,901 Divorce Cases in 2024 Dominated by Young Couples

INFOKU, BLORA –It is recorded that the divorce rate  in Blora  is still high every year. 

In 2024, 1,901 cases were recorded, dominated by divorce lawsuits.

Most of them are  married  couples who filed for divorce at a young age.

 The never-ending  disputes  and  arguments were the reason the young couple  chose to separate.

The Junior Legal Clerk  of the Blora Religious Court  ( PA ) Anjar Wisnugroho told the press that there were 1,901 divorce cases divided into  450 divorce  cases and  1,451 divorce  cases.

Women are more likely to submit divorce requests to the courts.

Meanwhile, as many as 450 men in Blora chose the status  of widowers  by divorcing their wives.

"Fewer than divorce cases, only 450 cases," he said.

Anjar explained that the highest number of divorce lawsuits occurred in May and July with 156 cases each.

The average age of those filing for divorce is 21 to 30 years old.

"Meanwhile, the majority of divorce applications are made at the age of 31 to 40 years," he said.

He revealed that several factors influenced the couple to choose to divorce, namely the majority because of continuous disputes and arguments, leaving one of the parties.

Apart from that, there is  gambling , narcotics,  domestic violence ,  imprisonment , and others.

"But, the amount is not much," he said.

He revealed that there was an increase in divorce lawsuits from 2021 to 2022.

Meanwhile, in 2022, 2023, and 2024 there will be a decline.

Divorce lawsuits from 2021 to 2024 continued to increase, although not significantly.

According to him, efforts that can be made to reduce the divorce rate include awareness within the family and socialization by religious leaders.

"As well as related agencies, religious affairs offices and other institutions need to be maximized," he added. (Endah/ IST )
