Visiting Blora DPRD, Jurangjero Residents Ask for 23 Residents to be Freed from Suspect Status

INFOKU, BLORA –The Blora DPRD received the presence of  Jurangjero residents  affected by PT Kapur Rembang Indonesia ( PT KRI ) to undergo an audience yesterday (4/12). 

Their arrival was to free 23 residents from  suspect status .

For this reason, the DPRD will monitor until the residents' demands are met.

By prioritizing cross-regional communication to  the central lobby  .

In addition, residents will also be encouraged to obtain  legal assistance  from the local government.

Jurangjero Village Head (Kades) Suwoto revealed that in the audience, residents who were named suspects by  the Rembang Police  were asked to describe the initial chronology of the disturbance.

He asked the council leaders as representatives of the people to help the residents of Jurangjero Village to escape from the suspect's clutches.

"Every Monday and Thursday we have to take a group photo and send it to the Rembang Police as proof of the report," he explained.

Suwoto continued,  PT KRI's activities  disturb and burden residents.

Because  the smoke  generated from lime processing is inhaled by residents, it causes residents to be disturbed in their daily activities.

Blora DPRD Chairman   Mustopa revealed that there were two important points from the audience conveyed by Jurangjero residents, namely regarding the 23 residents who were named suspects, efforts would be made to obtain legal assistance.

Second, residents want  air pollution  caused by PT KRI's activities to stop happening again.

"To clear it up quickly, we need to communicate with both parties, hopefully the pollution will not impact Jurangjero residents," he said.

Mustopa emphasized that the effort that would be made was persuasion.

Namely, political communication between individuals and across regions, namely the Rembang Regency Government (Pemkab).

IKA PMII  is also ready to help if needed for legal assistance for citizens who are criminalized.

"Our friends at  PMII  have also prepared  30 lawyers  , so that it is not too crowded, it was agreed that we would ask them to help in relation to legal assistance in collaboration with the local government," he said.

Regarding the licensing of PT KRI which is located in the center, he promised to lobby colleagues in  the Indonesian House of Representatives .
