Targeted for completion by end of June, Regent reviews Bengawan Solo landslide management project

INFOKU, BLORA – An inspection of the Bengawan Solo River landslide handling project in Gadon Village, Cepu District was carried out by the Regent of Blora H Arief Rohman together with the Head of the Blora Regency Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Service, Samgautama Karnajaya, Monday (6/5/2024) .

In this agenda, Samgautama said, the landslide handling project is targeted for completion at the end of next month.

This target is the result of coordination with the Bengawan Solo River Basin Center (BBWS) or Bengawan Solo Water Resources (SDA) PUPR.

“Yesterday heavy equipment was deployed to dredge the landslide and compacted road. Currently, the iron plates that will be installed to strengthen the embankment have arrived. Later, the plate will be used to strengthen the embankment that collapsed. "The target is to complete it by the end of the month," said Samgautama in a press statement, Monday.

He explained that when dredging the landslide, an old culvert was found which was one of the causes of the landslide because of the water flowing from the village towards the Bengawan Solo River.

"Later the culverts will also be repaired," he continued.

Alternative road

While this project is in progress, said Samgautama, people, especially those driving four-wheeled vehicles, have to go around passing through the next village.

Meanwhile, residents who drive two-wheeled vehicles can cross the alternative road to the west of the landslide location.

Meanwhile, Blora Regent H Arief Rohman appreciated BBWS Bengawan Solo's quick action in overcoming the landslide which cut off the district road in the Cepu District area towards Kedungtuban District.

"This district road is an alternative link between Cepu and the southern part of Kedungtuban, such as Klagen, Panolan, Sidorejo, and others," he said.

"Thank you for the synergy between PUPR SDA Bengawan Solo, Head of Balai, as well as Minister of PUPR. "Hopefully the repairs go smoothly, amen," he continued.

The Regent hopes that, after the landslide handling project is completed, the severed district roads can be reconnected.

For information, a landslide that occurred in early March resulted in the Ngloram-Gadon Regency Road section being cut off due to erosion by the flow of the Bengawan Solo River.

Apart from Gadon Village, a landslide management project is also being carried out by BBWS Bengawan Solo in Panolan Village, Kedungtuban District.
