A resident died, allegedly due to inhaling poison gas in Oro-oro Kesongo


INFOKU, BLORA –Warino, a resident of a village around the Oro-oro Kesongo area, died allegedly inhaling toxic gas from the mud eruption that occurred in Oro-oro Kesongo, Gabusan Village, Jati District, Blora Regency.

The Oro-oro Kesongo erupted several times on Tuesday (11/4/2023) afternoon, until Wednesday (12/4/2023) morning.

"On Wednesday April 12 2023, at around 08.00 WIB, a person died due to inhaling toxic gas from the mud eruption (Kurdo) at the Oro-oro Kesongo Geological Tourism Object," said Kapolsek Jati, Iptu Subardi based on his written statement to journalists, Wednesday (12/4/2023).

He said the eruption of mud in the Oro-oro Kesongo crater occurred on Tuesday (11/4/2023) at around 17.30 for 12 eruptions.

Oro-oro Kesongo is also still erupting until Wednesday (12/4/2023) around 04.00 WIB with a height of approximately 8 meters.

"At the time of the explosion the victim was in a cowshed located in the Oro-oro Kesongo area, to be more precise, to the east of the Oro-oro Kesongo field," he said.

Furthermore, at 05.00 WIB, the victim felt short of breath due to inhaling the poisonous gas from the explosion. The victim ran towards the lowlands because he was no longer strong and fell down asking for help.

"When the victim asked for help, his uncle immediately ran to help the victim. However, when he arrived at the location, his uncle saw the victim dead with his head stuck in a pool of water," he explained.

Not only that, the victim's uncle who was also a witness in the incident also felt dizzy and his body was weak.

Furthermore, there are other witnesses who immediately took him to the hospital. The incident was then reported to the police.

"At 09.00 WIB the Intelligence Panit Polsek Jati together with the Criminal Investigation unit and the Jati Police's watch picket came to the TKP, to conduct TKP processing, and urged local residents not to come close to the area of ​​the explosion," he said. (Endah/ IST )
