INFOKU, BLORA - Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) together with employees of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service (DPUPR) of Blora Regency harvested their own Eco-Enzyme for the second time.
This second harvest was led by DWP DPUPR Chairman Pipit Samgautama Karnajaya, at the local office, Friday (25/3/2022).
"Praise God, this is the second harvest after being fermented for approximately three months from five buckets," he explained.
He said, the results of the Eco-Enzyme fermentation were filtered using a thin cloth to separate the kitchen waste dregs and the Eco-Enzyme water.
"The harvest this time will be used by DWP members for household purposes, while some will be used for floor cleaning at the PUPR office in Blora Regency, the use of Eco-Enzyme plays a full role in reducing kitchen waste," she explained.
As previously informed, the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service (DPUPR) of Blora Regency has activated State Civil Apparatus (ASN) employees with Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) to utilize household organic waste to make Eco-Enzyme fermentation.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Blora Regency DPUPR, Samgautama Karnajaya, in Blora, recently.
"We learn it from youtube tutorials. This has been harvested several months ago," he said.
Even though it has been harvested, it continues to be made again and is enthusiastically welcomed by ASN and DWP employees of the local office.
As is known, organic waste processing can be done in several ways, namely composting, both aerobically and anaerobically, and by making Eco-Enzymes.
The specialty of Eco-Enzyme is that it does not require a large area for the fermentation process as in the composting process.
The manufacture of Eco-Enzyme is very economical in terms of place of processing and can be applied at home.
Its production does not even require a composter with certain specifications.
Containers such as used mineral water bottles or other products that are no longer used can be reused as Eco-Enzyme fermentation tanks.
This is also an added value because it supports the concept of reuse in saving the environment.
Eco-Enzyme is an environmentally friendly product that is easy for anyone to make. Its manufacture only requires water, sugar as a carbon source, and organic vegetable and fruit waste.
Eco-enzymes are the result of fermentation of organic kitchen waste, sugar (brown sugar, brown sugar or cane sugar), and water in a ratio of 3:1:10.
Basically, Eco-Enzyme accelerates bio-chemical reactions in nature to produce enzymes that are useful in the utilization of fruit or vegetable waste.
Enzymes from this “garbage” are one way of waste management that utilizes kitchen scraps to produce useful liquids.
The fermentation process in making Eco-Enzyme lasts for three months.
After that the resulting liquid, which is dark brown in color and has a strong sweet and sour fermented aroma, can be used.
Eco-Enzyme can be used as an organic liquid fertilizer for plants, a mixture of detergents, floor cleaners, pesticide residue cleaners, descaling agents, and as a spa ingredient to help improve blood circulation. (Endah/ IST )
