INFOKU, BLORA -Blora Regent Arief Rohman, accompanied by Acting Regional Secretary of Blora Regency Dasiran, and Head of the Social Service, Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (Dinsos PPPA) received a working visit from the Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Central Java Province Ali Said, along with the Head of BPS Blora Regency Rukhedi, and staff, at the Blora Regent's Office, Thursday (10/9/2026).
The meeting was part of the audience agenda regarding the results of the 2026 Economic Census and also discussed developments in the social and economic conditions of Blora Regency, including updating DESIL data, which is a concern of the local government.
On this occasion, BPS also conveyed the economic development of Blora Regency based on Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) data for the second quarter of 2026.
The Blora Regency economy continued to show positive annual growth in the second quarter of 2026. Blora's GRDP grew by 2.67 percent year-on-year, while cumulative growth in the first semester of 2026 reached 3.90 percent.
This condition shows that Blora's economy still has a significant dependence on natural resource-based sectors, primary production, trade, and the processing industry.
Therefore, the challenge ahead is not only to maintain positive economic growth, but also to improve the quality of growth to make it higher, more stable, and more sustainable.
Strengthening agricultural productivity, increasing added value and downstreaming of commodities, developing the processing industry, strengthening the trade sector, and increasing investment are several strategic steps that need to be continuously promoted.
BPS Encourages Update of DESIL Data
In addition to discussing economic developments, the audience also highlighted the issue of DESIL data, which is currently a public concern.
Blora Regent Arief Rohman said that the regional government welcomed the visit of the Central Java BPS and the Blora Regency BPS to discuss various data developments and community conditions in Blora Regency.
"Thank God, this morning we were visited by the heads of the Central Java and Blora Statistics Agency (BPS). We discussed various matters, particularly the DESIL (Desila and the Indonesian Census Bureau) issue, which is currently of public concern," said the Regent.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Java BPS, Ali Said, explained that the DESIL data currently used as a reference still uses conditions from 2022.
Meanwhile, the social and economic conditions of society in 2026 have experienced various changes.
According to him, these changes in conditions need to be followed by comprehensive data updates so that the information used in various policies truly reflects the current conditions of society.
"The current DESIL reference is still based on conditions from 2022. Now, it's 2026. Many changes in community conditions have affected the information in the data itself, so a comprehensive update is needed," he explained.
He added that updating data requires cooperation and collaboration from various parties, from district governments and village governments to the community.
This is because changes in DESIL status are not only related to changes in the condition of an individual or a family, but also take into account the condition of all family members.
"We need cooperation and collaboration with relevant parties, including the district government, villages, and the community, because changes in DESIL are not only influenced by individual or personal changes within the family itself, but also by all family members," he said.
The public can provide input
Responding to this, the Regent of Blora emphasized that BPS is open to public input regarding the DESIL status which is considered not to be in accordance with current conditions.
People who feel there is a discrepancy in the data can submit information through the Social Services or directly to the Blora Regency BPS for further updating according to the applicable mechanisms.
"BPS welcomes feedback on the current DESIL status. Reports can be made through the Social Services Agency or directly to BPS Blora. Data changes based on the latest conditions will ultimately alter the DESIL status or ranking," explained the Regent.
The Regent hopes that the synergy between the Blora Regency Government and BPS can continue to be strengthened, especially in providing accurate and up-to-date data as a basis for development planning.
