INFOKU, BLORA –An incident that shocked residents of Sarimulyo Village, Ngawen District, Blora, who were shocked by the training plane crash, Sunday (6/9).
The dragonfly-type aircraft experienced engine problems while flying over the Blora area, resulting in an emergency landing in the tobacco fields of Dukuh Banjarmlati.
The incident occurred at around 12:10 WIB. The plane was reportedly flying from the east.
Residents who were around the location then found the plane in a destroyed and burned condition.
One of Sarimulyo's residents, Mustakim, said the plane had experienced problems before landing on the land.
Two people on board the plane survived the incident.
Meanwhile, one of the pilots, Dhony Vasmin A., from Surabaya, said the plane was on its way from Pangandaran to Malang.
The flight takes place via Yogyakarta before continuing the journey to Malang.
According to him, the plane experienced engine problems when entering the Blora area.
The plane's altitude at that time was already low so the pilot chose a tobacco field to make an emergency landing.
"The engine was stuttering as we entered the Blora area. Because the altitude was already too low, we chose a tobacco field to land," he said.
Dhony was on the flight with Ignatius Andreas, from Tangerang, who is the pilot's secretary.
Both survived, although the pilot was taken to a health center for treatment.
Dhony said the aircraft was part of an activity of the Bromo Flying Club which is under the auspices of the Indonesian Air Force and based at Abdulrachman Saleh Air Base, Malang.
He also apologized to local residents for the disturbance caused by the incident.
His party is coordinating with local authorities for further handling.
"We apologize to the residents for causing a commotion. We also ask for assistance from local authorities and officials to report this accident," he told the press.
According to Dhony, the aircraft used in the flight had official permission from the Indonesian Air Force. Officials from Pangandaran will reportedly follow to the scene to assist with the handling process.
