INFOKU, BLORA – The hopes of Blora 18 Senior High School (SRMA) to increase the number of new students this academic year have been dashed.
The proposal for an additional study group (rombel) to be placed at SR Rembang has certainly not received the green light from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).
Head of SRMA 18 Blora, Tri Yuli Setyoningrum, in a press statement said that the proposal had been submitted so that the school's capacity could be increased by 30 students.

However, the Ministry of Social Affairs refused because the capacity of each SR had been determined from the start of operations.
"With this decision, SRMA 18 Blora will only send one class of 30 students to SR Rembang. This number is far less than the proposed requirement," he added.
According to Tri, additional classes cannot be added at any time, because the entire quota is under the authority of the central government.
"The additional classes cannot be filled immediately because the quota has been previously determined," he said.
However, students' departure to Rembang is still not possible in the near future. This is because the building that will serve as a temporary learning location is still under preparation.
If there are no changes to the schedule, new students will start leaving at the end of this month.
"The building isn't ready for occupancy yet. The students plan to leave at the end of the month," he said.
While waiting for confirmation of placement, the school begins to prepare the students' basic needs.
Data collection on uniform sizes, shoes, and other equipment is carried out through Family Hope Program (PKH) assistants who conduct direct checks at prospective students' homes.
"All the needs of new students will be prepared by the transition team at SR Rembang," said Tri.
After officially moving into SR Rembang, the students will undergo a health check and also take part in the school environment introduction period (MPLS).
In its implementation, SRMA 18 Blora will still be involved to accompany the activity.
"All health tests and MPLS will be conducted at SR Rembang. We will assist in their implementation," he said.

He also explained that due to the limited facilities, the capacity for new students was also affected.
"Last academic year, we were able to manage two classes with a total of 50 students. This year, we can only accept one class with 30 students while we await the readiness of the school's facilities and infrastructure," he concluded. (Endah/ IST )
