INFOKU, BLORA – The panel of judges at the Blora District Court sentenced Pujianto, the defendant in the case of mistreatment of a cat named Mintel, to two months in prison.
However, the punishment does not need to be served behind bars and is replaced with community service in the form of legal counseling on animal protection.
The verdict was read out by Chief Judge Dedy Adi Saputra in a trial held on Wednesday (3/6).

In its verdict, the panel stated that Pujianto was legally and convincingly proven guilty of committing the crime of animal abuse.
"The defendant was sentenced to two months in prison," said Dedy when reading the verdict.
However, the prison sentence was not carried out.
In exchange, the defendant is required to carry out social work in the form of counseling or legal outreach regarding anti-violence against animals for 20 hours.
The panel of judges detailed that the activity must be carried out in 10 schools in Blora Regency, from junior high school to high school level.
Each school received two hours of material, according to the schedule set by the court.
Regarding the decision, Pujianto, through his attorney, Zainudin, stated that he accepted it and would not file an appeal.
"We accept the judge's decision. The defendant is ready to undertake community service in the form of legal counseling on animal cruelty," he said after the hearing.
Meanwhile, the Public Prosecutor (JPU) stated that he was still considering the matter.
Previously, the prosecutor only demanded that the defendant be fined Rp. 5 million.
Because the prosecutor's position has not been determined, the decision is not yet legally binding. (Endah/ IST )
