INFOKU, BLORA - The Blora DPRD will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the performance of the Regionally-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) PT Blora Patra Energi (BPE).
This step was taken following an assessment that the BUMD in the energy sector had not been able to play an active role in developing the abundant oil and gas potential in Blora Regency.
Deputy Speaker of the Blora DPRD, Lanova Chandra Tirtaka, emphasized that BUMD should not only be passive beneficiaries of energy sector management.
According to him, BPE must be able to take on a more strategic role through business collaboration with various national oil and gas companies.

"Regional-owned enterprises (BUMDs) shouldn't just be passive recipients. They must have active operators and transform their governance and business development," he said.
Lanova believes that business development opportunities in the oil and gas sector remain abundant. Furthermore, Blora is known as an oil and gas producing region, offering significant potential for wider business collaboration.
He gave an example of the opportunity to collaborate with companies under the auspices of Pertamina and the gas sector.
According to him, the high demand for gas opens up opportunities for BPE to become more involved in the energy business chain.
"Blora has significant oil and gas potential. Don't let this opportunity pass you by because regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) aren't ready to take on the role," he said.
He also highlighted a number of collaborations BPE had initiated with other companies that had not yielded results. Therefore, the DPRD wanted to determine the exact root of the problems facing these regional companies.
"We want to know whether the constraints are human resources, management, or other issues. What's clear is that regionally-owned enterprises (BUMD) must be more proactive," he stressed.
In the near future, the leadership and Commission B will summon the BPE ranks and the regional government's economic division to request an explanation regarding the company's business direction.
The evaluation will focus on business development plans, utilization of oil and gas well potential, and targets to be achieved in the next few years.

"We will redesign the direction of BPE's development. We will discuss the timeline, the business plan, and how we will manage potential wells when they become available. That's what we want to know. BPE is the one who will best understand the answer to this question in the near future," he concluded. (Endah/ IST )
