INFOKU, BLORA – The Blora Police Criminal Investigation Unit has successfully uncovered fraudulent practices in the distribution of subsidized liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) across provinces.
Approximately 200 melon tubes suspected of being sold above the highest retail price (HET) were secured by officers while passing along the Blora-Cepu route.
In a press statement, Blora Police Chief AKBP Wawan Andi Sus Anto revealed that this arrest began with a public complaint regarding a suspicious pickup vehicle.
Officers then conducted surveillance on the Blora-Cepu Highway kilometer 7.
"There was a Mitsubishi L300 vehicle with an open back, but the left and right sides were covered with a tarp. When we stopped, we found 200 subsidized 3-kg LPG cylinders," said AKBP Wawan.
The suspect, identified as FS, is a resident of Kenduruan District, Tuban Regency. He was intercepted by officers east of Jepon Market. Preliminary investigations indicate that hundreds of gas canisters were brought from East Java and sold to markets in Blora Regency at prices above the legal limit.
"The state loss amounted to Rp. 3.8 million," he explained.
In addition to apprehending the suspect, police confiscated several pieces of evidence, including 200 LPG cylinders, an L300 pickup truck with keys and vehicle registration certificate, a tarpaulin, a trolley, six yellow plastic seals, a nail, and a cell phone.
For his actions, FS was charged with multiple articles. Namely, Article 55 of Law No. 6 of 2023 concerning the Stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law No. 2 of 2022 concerning Job Creation, which became an Amendment to Law No. 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas .
" Misuse of the transportation/trade of subsidized fuel carries a maximum prison sentence of six years and a fine of up to IDR 60 billion," he explained. (Endah/ IST )
