INFOKU, BLORA - Kedung Putri is a cultural site that from the past until now has held many mysteries, even mystical ones. According to the story, this place was often used for bathing by Citro Wati, the beautiful daughter of the king of Purwocarito.
Kedung Putri is located in the north of Randublatung District, approximately 10 km from the Randublatung city center, precisely in the forest plot 52 of the Gumeng RPH, Temanjang BKPH, Randublatung Forest Management Unit. Administratively, it is part of Tanggel Village, Randublatung District, Blora Regency.
The mystical charge at this location is so strong that it is quite famous in Randublatung.
The legend of Kedung Putri began in ancient times where there was an area called Purwocarito State (now Gumeng Village) which was led by a king named Dian Gondo Kusumo with his consort Loro Girah.
This king and queen couple were blessed with 3 children, namely Citro Menggolo, Citro Kusumo and Citro Wati.
Each of the descendants of King Dian Gondo Kusumo was given the power to lead three kingdoms.
Each of them is Citro Menggolo whose kingdom is in Mlumpang (now Trembes Village), Citro Kusumo whose kingdom is in Bale Kambang (now Temetes Village) and Citro Wati whose kingdom is in Purwocarito (now Gumeng Village).
One of his three children, Citro Wati, has a beautiful face.

Because of her beauty, many other kings' sons or members of the nobility were interested and wanted to marry Citro Wati.
Until finally Princess Citro Wati was proposed to by 2 kings, namely Begede Katong from the Pandan kingdom (now Njetak Wanger Village, Ngawen) and Jonggrang Prayungan from the Atas Angin kingdom.
The two kings finally went to war to seize Cito Wati.
Neither of them has lost or won in this war.
Finally Citro Wati came and rejected both of them (Begede Katong and Jonggrang Prayungan).
Feeling rejected, Begede Katong became angry and summoned a storm to destroy the country of Purwocarito.
As a result, the state of Purwocarito was razed to the ground.
Sendang Tetes & impotence
A few days later Begede Katong did not give up even though his love was rejected.
He still left for the Purwocarito kingdom to propose to Citro Wati.
Arriving at a highland place, Begede Katong saw Citrowati bathing in a spring. As soon as he saw Citrowati's beauty and voluptuous body, Begede Katong's lust peaked and his semen dripped, which now became Banyu Tes, in the hamlet of Temetes.
Tetes Water Spring
Until now, the local people believe that the "Sendang Tetes" can cure impotence and increase libido in men who bathe there.
After that Begede Katong continued his journey again.
Upon arriving at Mount Sengkang, he met his arch enemy Jonggrang Prayungan, and the two fought again.
The two of them fought and killed each other, causing all the equipment for the proposal that Begede Katong brought to be scattered and thrown far away to another place.
The tribute place (Bokor Kencono) was thrown to Pengkol Village (Banjarejo District) which was called Kedung Bokor, Sirih (in Javanese Suruh) was thrown to Banyuurip Village which was called Suruhan, the Gemblong (dodol) which was sliced was thrown to Temetes Village which was called Tiris, while the person carrying the Bokor Kencono named Denok died and was buried marked by a teak tree which until now is still alive and is called "Jati Denok" .
Even though Begede Katong forced himself to propose, Cito Wati still refused to accept Begede Katong's proposal.
Even though his love was rejected, Begede Katong did not want to return to his country.
Disguised as a Cursed Fish
Citro Wati has a habit that she never leaves every day, namely bathing in the river (Kedung) which is now called Kedung Putri.
Begede Katong took advantage of the situation by changing himself into a snakehead fish (Kutuk) and entering the river.
When Citro Wati was bathing in the river, she saw a snakehead fish (kutuk) which was actually the incarnation of Begede Katong.
Citro Wati was very happy to see the fish and she played in the river (kedung) without suspecting the presence of the fish.
Because he often played with the snakehead fish (kutuk), he unknowingly made love to the snakehead fish, the incarnation of Begede Katong, which ultimately caused Citro Wati to become pregnant.
Citro Kusumo, Citro Wati's older brother, was angry when he saw that his sister was pregnant without knowing who had impregnated her.
Citro Wati was not allowed to give birth normally but had to give birth via the left side of the stomach.
Citro Wati's stomach was stabbed with a keris by Citro Kusumo and out of Citro Wati's stomach came a snakehead fish (Kutuk).
The strangeness that happened to Citro Wati's child made it a prohibition for the people of Gumeng hamlet that they were not allowed to eat snakehead fish (kutuk) because it was Citro Wati's flesh and blood.
Because she was stabbed in the stomach, Citro Wati fainted and became unconscious.
Then Citro Wati was dragged by Cito Kusumo and doused with water.
Finally Citro Wati came to her senses and the water used to water Citro Wati was named Banyuurip.
Until now, Banyuurip still exists and its existence is always maintained because it is believed to be able to cure sick people.
After that incident, Citro Wati promised not to get married before meeting Joko Sayuto with his fiancée Joko Santoso.
Citro Wati meditated in the river (Kedung Putri) while waiting for Joko Sayuto and Joko Santoso.
