The Cat Lovers Community expressed their appreciation for the Blora Police's determination of the suspect in the cat-kicking grandpa case in Blora.

INFOKU, BLORA –The performance of the Blora Police received appreciation from the CLOW (Cat Lovers in the World) cat lovers community after naming an elderly man with the initials PJ as a suspect in a case of alleged cat kicking in Blora, Central Java.

The perpetrator, PJ, kicked the cat when his owner took him jogging at Kridosono Field, Blora, on Sunday (25/1/2026).

Shortly afterward, the cat fell ill and died.

CLOW representative, Hening Yulia, expressed her appreciation to the Blora Police for their swift action in handling public reports.

"We appreciate the steps taken by the Blora Police, especially the Chief of Police and the Criminal Investigation Unit, who have followed up on public reports professionally and progressively, leading to the identification of a suspect. This serves as a message that animal cruelty should not be taken lightly," Hening said in a written statement on Friday (February 13, 2026).

According to Hening, the determination of the suspect shows the seriousness of the authorities in responding to public concerns, especially animal lovers.

CLOW hopes that the legal process will be transparent up to the trial stage, thus creating a deterrent effect and increasing public awareness of the importance of animal protection.

Hening said that the Blora Police were the first police in Indonesia to implement Article 337 of the Criminal Code concerning animal abuse.

"We cat rescuers are very grateful for your quick willingness to learn the new rules, which has strengthened the case investigation in terms of creating a deterrent effect and fulfilling a sense of justice, especially for Mintel the cat," he explained.

CLOW also appealed to the public not to take the law into their own hands and to completely hand over the legal process to the authorities.

"We urge the public to remain calm and entrust this process to the police. Let's work together to build empathy and concern for animals," he said. Blora Police Name PJ as Suspect

Previously, Blora Police Chief, Senior Commissioner of Police (AKBP) Wawan Andi Susanto, said that investigators had named PJ as a suspect after going through a series of investigations, witness examinations, coordination with the public prosecutor, and a case title.

"Today, Friday, February 13, 2026, at approximately 11.00 WIB, investigators have named PJ as a suspect," said Wawan during a press conference at the Blora Police Headquarters, Friday (13/2/2026).

PJ is suspected of violating Article 337 paragraph 1 letter a of the Criminal Code with a penalty of one year in prison.

"Next, investigators will complete the case files to be immediately submitted to the public prosecutor," he explained.

The police ensured that the investigation into the case was carried out thoroughly .

"We are committed to being transparent and professional in handling this case," he said.

This case started with a video showing a cat being taken for a walk and then kicked by PJ who was jogging at Kridosono Field.

The kick caused stress and the cat subsequently died. Police have questioned several witnesses regarding the incident.

Not only CLOW, but the Sintesia Animalia Indonesia community also reported the case to the Blora Police. The report was filed by Hening Yulia and received on Wednesday (February 4, 2026).

Hening said the purpose of the report was to ensure that the cat-kicking incident was thoroughly and professionally investigated by law enforcement officials. (Endah/ IST )
