The incident occurred after the students consumed food in the  free nutritious meal program  ( MBG ), last Tuesday (25/11).

However, the students were rushed to the nearest hospital during school hours the following day, Wednesday (26/11).

According to him, the results of bacteriological laboratory examinations of water  and  food samples  showed excessive  contamination  by Escherichia coli  ( E-coli ) bacteria .

"Based on the results of the bacteriological laboratory of water and food, food poisoning was caused by E. coli bacteria contained in the food," he explained.

He continued by explaining that the findings were not only from food samples, but from all samples that contained E. coli bacteria, namely from water samples from kitchen tanks, fruits, and cooking utensils.

"This bacteria is actually good bacteria. However, if consumed in excess, it will produce toxins in the body," he continued.

Nur Betsia said that the laboratory results sent to the Semarang BLK found that the menu prepared on Tuesday (25/11) consisted of woku chicken, stir-fried pakcoy and carrots in oyster sauce, and melon.

The entire menu is then analyzed to detect potential contamination.

He emphasized that the main factor causing the poisoning was strongly suspected to have come from imperfect food processing, which allowed bacteria to survive and grow in the food.

"This food poisoning is likely caused by imperfect processing that allows bacteria to survive and thrive in the food," he added.
