INFOKU. BLORA - Doplang, a village in Jati District, located at the southern tip of Blora Regency, apparently has a historical story related to a controversial figure from Rembang Regency, Dampo Awang.
According to the stories of the local residents, the history of the founding of several villages from Doplang until the Blekuthuk spring was formed.
This story is a story that has been passed down through generations in society.
Even though it is possible that there are many versions about the history of the naming of several villages in Jati District, this version of the story is considered to be a reference considering the limited literature on the history of the village.
Once upon a time, there lived a beautiful woman named Putri Segorogunung.
Putri Segorogunung currently lives in the Sulursari area of Grobogan Regency.
The Princess's beauty was so famous that Dampo Awang, a merchant from Rembang, wanted to marry her.
Knowing the intentions of the Rembang merchant, the Princess was not pleased.
With a strategy, the Princess tried to thwart Dampo Awang's intentions by demanding a very large dowry.

Among the dowries was a carriage made of gold and diamonds.
Dampo Awang transported all the dowry requested by the Princess on a ship.
The ship was pushed ashore by all his troops and crew.
Upon arriving at Doplang, Dampo Awang's men and troops were exhausted.
They rested, some even fell asleep on their backs.

Dampo Awang's troops were exhausted ( Javanese: mboten gadhah doyo ), they fell asleep on their backs ( Javanese: tilem jepaplang ).
The two words above (mboten gadhah doyo,) were finally combined into Doplang.
