INFOKU, BLORA –Regarding the illegal oil well fire in Blora, three suspects were not detained.

They applied for a suspension of detention, so they were only required to report on Mondays and Thursdays.

Currently, the case files for phase I of the oil well fire case have been submitted to the Prosecutor's Office.

As reported some time ago, the illegal oil well fire occurred on Sunday, August 17, 2025 in Dukuh Gendono, Gandu Village, Bogorejo District.

This incident killed four residents and one toddler.

The fire lasted for days, the fire was only successfully extinguished by a joint team on Saturday, August 23, 2025, after various efforts including pouring salt water into the burning well.

On August 28 2025, Blora Police held a press conference to announce three suspects, with the initials SPR (46) as the land owner, ST (45) as the prospective investor, and HRT alias GD (42) as the driller.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Blora Police, AKP Zaenul Arifin, said that the three suspects were currently serving a suspended detention.

The request was filed two weeks after the perpetrators were named suspects. Consequently, the suspects were required to be absent every Monday and Thursday.

"Because the suspect did not run away, he was ordered to be present on Monday and Thursday with a guarantee from his lawyer," he told the press at the Blora Police Headquarters on Monday (27/10/2025).

Files Submitted to the Prosecutor's Office, he said, investigators have completed the investigation process and submitted the first stage case files to the public prosecutor.

"Currently, our colleagues from the Blora Police Criminal Investigation Unit have carried out the investigation professionally, and the case files are currently in the first stage, having been handed over to the public prosecutor or prosecutor's office," he said.

He explained that if the case files were declared complete or P21, his party would hand over the suspects and evidence to the prosecutor's office.

"Later, if it has reached P21, we will move on to the second stage of the investigation, where we will hand over the suspect and evidence to the prosecutor's office," he concluded. (Endah/ IST )
