Today (18/6) the District Government brought the proposal to the Development Planning Agency (Bappenas).
"Today (Wednesday) Blora Bappeda came to Bappenas to propose extending the aircraft runway ," said Head of Infrastructure, Regional, Economic, and Natural Resources (IKPSDA) of Blora Bappeda Yudi Kristiawan.

Yudi explained that the proposal had become a directive from the Regent of Blora, Arief Rohman .
The aim is to activate flights at Ngloram Airport for the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages .
The extension of the runway so that the Boeing 737 aircraft that are usually used to transport pilgrims.
"So that planes can land at Ngloram Airport, the runway needs to be extended," he said.
He explained that the runway length needed for Boeing aircraft to take off at the airport needs to be 2,000 meters long and 45 meters wide.

Meanwhile, the current runway at Ngloram Airport is 1,500 meters long and 30 meters wide.
"If it is approved, the departure of Hajj and Umrah can go through Blora (Ngloram Airport) and land directly in Saudi Arabia," he explained.
He added that if the proposal is accepted by Bappenas, the construction of the runway extension will be built by the Ministry of Transportation with the specified aircraft runway standards.
Hajj and Umrah pilgrims from Blora and surrounding areas such as Bojonegoro can go via Ngloram airport.

It is known that previously the Regency Government had attempted Ngloram Airport to transport Umrah pilgrims, but did not land directly in Saudi Arabia, but transited by changing planes in Jakarta. (Endah/ IST )
