INFOKU -The Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, officially inaugurated Siswanto as the General Chairperson of the National Executive Board of the Association of Regional People's Representative Councils of All Indonesia (DPN ADKASI) for the 2025–2030 period. The inauguration was held at the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta, Thursday (19/6/2025).
The inauguration was attended by the ranks of the main officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the heads of the district DPRD throughout Indonesia, and a number of national development figures.
Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of ADKASI's strategic role as a partner of the central government in realizing the national development agenda, especially in supporting economic growth targeted to reach 8 percent.
"The district DPRD is the spearhead in implementing central policies at the regional level. I hope that the DPN ADKASI can be an effective driving force, not only in absorbing community aspirations, but also in encouraging regional policies that are in line with the national strategic direction," said the Minister of Home Affairs.
Tito also highlighted the contribution of regional economic growth as a determinant of national economic performance.
He asked ADKASI to strengthen cross-sector collaboration, starting from budgeting, supervision, to regulation, to ensure that strategic programs such as food security, energy, downstreaming, and human resource development run optimally.
Minister of Home Affairs Tito requested that the new ADKASI leadership prioritize execution-based work and cross-institutional collaboration.
He gave an example of how the DPRD could encourage the acceleration of regional budget realization, eliminate licensing bottlenecks, and synchronize the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) with the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).
"I believe that you will carry out this task as best as you can. Build intensive communication with regional and central heads. Do not let the DPRD get caught in slow bureaucracy and local conflicts of interest," said the Minister of Home Affairs.
Meanwhile, the elected General Chairperson Siswanto stated his commitment to making ADKASI a forum for coordination and capacity building of the district DPRD in order to encourage inclusive and sustainable development.
"We are ready to be a constructive partner for the central and regional governments, in line with the big mission of achieving 8 percent national economic growth," he said.
Siswanto, who is also the Deputy Chairman of the Blora DPRD, added that this inauguration is a momentum for national consolidation for all district DPRDs to strengthen the role of legislation and supervision in supporting the success of the priority programs of President Prabowo Subianto's government.
"We want the Minister of Home Affairs to be the guardian of the dignity of the DPRD. So that this institution remains strong in carrying out its legislative, budgetary, and supervisory functions, without political or bureaucratic pressure," said Siswanto.
Siswanto, who is also the Chairman of the Blora Golkar Party DPD, added that ADKASI will fight for the strengthening of the DPRD institution as an equal partner to the regional head.
He said the DPRD was not a subordinate, but part of the check and balance system in local democracy.
"In the increasingly dynamic constellation of national development, the district DPRD is required to transform from a local actor to a grassroots-based national development driver," said Siswanto, who is also Deputy Chairman of the Blora DPRD, Central Java. (Roes)
