INFOKU, BLORA -From the data collected, Blora's population growth rate over the last four years was around 2.68 percent.
The average annual growth rate is 0.25 percent.
This figure is claimed to indicate the condition of the normal population category.
The Family Planning ( KB ) program that is carried out is quite effective in controlling the population. Head of Population Control Division of the Population Control and KB Service (Dalduk KB) Blora Anton Yuwono explained that the percentage of population growth rate is in normal conditions.
The indicator, every year the growth is below 1.0 percent. In 2021 it was recorded at 0.27 percent, in 2022 it was recorded at 0.25 percent and in 2023 it was recorded at 0.76 percent.
"The population growth rate is already below 1.00 percent. That means it can be said to be normal," he said.
Anton emphasized that in the 2020 Population Census , there were 884,330 people, while in 2024, he admitted that he had not received a report.
Data entered in 2023 was 901,621 people or in the last three years an increase of 17,295 people.
"The 2023 figure is a projection, while the population census can only be carried out by the central government, to find out the real population," he said.
Meanwhile, according to BPS data in 2024, the population had reached 907,993.
When compared with the data held by Dalduk KB, the population growth rate over the past year was 6,368 people.
He said that this condition cannot be separated from the intervention of community socialization for family planning.
From the data, the average number of children born by women during their reproductive period each year is also quite good. In accordance with the expectations of the KB program, namely 2.0 points.
"The average number of children for fertile women is two," he explained.
He hopes that this figure will remain stable, and even reaches 2.1 points.
The adjustment of the points is quite important because it has decreased by 1 point, meaning that population growth in the region is classified as negative growth.
"If the birth rate is low, the impact will be a shortage of productive age between the population aged 15 to 64 years. It will have an impact on the demographic bonus ," he explained. Anton emphasized that the family planning program with two children is enough to affect the health of couples and offspring.
The government also wants population growth to be balanced between the number of deaths and births.
According to him, several things can negatively affect population growth because parents only want one child.
According to him, this phenomenon is starting to spread, possibly due to economic factors.
"In fact, they get married not wanting children because some consider it a burden, we don't want to be like in South Korea and Japan," he said. (Endah / IST )
