Prabu Brawijaya V exiled himself to Mount Lawu which is located on the border of Karanganyar, Central Java, and Magetan, East Java.

It is said that the King of Majapahit went to the mountains to avoid being chased by troops led by the Duke of Cepu.

In the process, the Duke of Cepu's troops never succeeded in capturing Prabu Brawijaya.

While at the peak of Lawu, Prabu Wijaya swore an oath to the Duke of Cepu: anyone from Cepu, or a direct descendant of the Duke of Cepu, would be in trouble if they climbed Mount Lawu.
