INFOKU, BLORA –Apart from the disaster, it turns out that the oil gushing from Well Number 10 Kedinding can also mean a blessing for the residents.
Petroleum that has been exploited before Indonesia's independence is currently managed by Kvell Blora Energi.
It was seen that one of the residents named Yanto (36) was seen scavenging for lantung that had fallen into the river channel yesterday (14/2) morning. He was seen carrying a 35 liter blue jerrycan. With his limp hands, he slowly picked up the lantung using a cloth.
The gush of water from well number 10 that occurred on Thursday (13/2) was a blessing.
He dammed the flow of oil with banana tree trunks, so that the sediment would settle before the oil was carried into the river.
He carried out this activity because he received an offer from someone to buy the crude oil he had collected.
"Earlier someone called me, wanting to buy. One jerrycan is priced at 200 thousand. Since 9 to 11 o'clock, I have already got 3 jerrycans," he said while scavenging for lantung.
Unlike Yanto, Rusdi, a farmer, is worried about suffering losses due to the eruption. The newly managed corn fields are threatened with death.

Because, the irrigation water mixed with oil cannot be used to water the plants. "The loss is approximately 1.5 million," he said.
He manages around 2,500 square meters of forestry land. And has used up 1.5 quintals of non-subsidized fertilizer.
Hopefully the management will provide compensation to the affected farmers.
"If there is a replacement, I will accept it, if not, it's okay. I'm just an ordinary citizen," he said.
The Black Gold ( Lantung oil ) in Kedinding has been exploited since the Dutch colonial era , through the Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij ( BPM ) company.
Reported from the Dutch news document, De Telegraff in 1929, the production of the new Kedinding well reached 65 cubic meters per day.
The Batavia Oil Company received a message that the well at the Kedinding drilling site belonged to the Panolan Company, which was referred to in the message published on August 6.
After being cleaned and drilled deeper, it now produces 65 M3 of water-free crude oil per day.

"BPE's subsidiary has shares in PT Kvell Blora Energy," said BPE's President Director, Giri Nurbaskoro.
The collaboration between the companies, reactivated several wells in the Kedinding area and several other old well points . (Endah/ IST )
