Until the End of 2024, Rice Stock in Blora is Still Safe

INFOKU, BLORA –It is estimated that the prices of basic necessities will increase ahead of the new year.

The Blora District Government (Pemkab) ensures that rice stocks  in storage warehouses are still safe until  the end of the year .

Around 42 tons of rice are on standby for distribution in case of emergency.

Head of the Trade Division of the Blora Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises Service (Dindagkop UKM), Siti Masamah, predicted an increase in the price of basic necessities in the market ahead of Christmas and New Year ( Nataru ) because people's needs tend to increase.

"This refers to last year's Christmas and New Year, where the price of basic necessities increased," he said.

Masamah added that even though there was an increase in community needs, the impact of the increase was not too significant.

Therefore, he hopes that the public does not need to panic because the district government continues to monitor the prices of basic necessities towards the end of the year.

"Every day, Dindagkop monitors prices ahead of Christmas and New Year," he said.

Head of the Food Division of the Blora Food, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Service (DP4), Nugraheni Wahyu Utami, ensured that rice reserves until the end of the year are still stored neatly in the warehouse.

It was recorded that 67 tons of unhusked rice, which if milled into rice would amount to 42 tons.

"Food reserves in the form of 67 tons of grain are stored in the warehouse," he said.

Nugraheni explained that the district government would use the food reserve stock in the event of a food emergency or incident, such as a famine.

"Rice reserves will decrease if there is an order and request from the regent to distribute it," he explained.

He emphasized that if there is no demand, the rice reserves will be stored and used again for next year's needs, especially if a disaster occurs or the area is in a state of food insecurity.

"According to Bapanas' instructions, the regional government must have food stocks in the warehouse for anticipation," he concluded. (Endah/ IST )
