Irrigation Water Complaints Are a Constraint for the Majority of Blora Farmers

INFOKU, BLORA –Due to the fact that irrigation facilities are still not evenly distributed, the difficulty of obtaining water from irrigation is still  the majority of farmers'  complaints . 

In addition, farmers need assistance  in marketing  agricultural products .

The Blora Regency Government promised to work on irrigation through proposals for  central   government   assistance   and marketing assistance.

Sarinah, a farmer from Ketringan Village, Jiken District, said that many farmers in her area grow red chilies.

However, farmers often have problems with irrigation in their fields, especially during the dry season.

In addition, farmers find it difficult to market when the main harvest arrives.

"Difficulties in irrigation, including marketing during harvest," he said.

Responding to this, Blora Regent Arief Rohman admitted that he would move quickly.

In order to encourage farmers to innovate in selling chilies in processed products such as chili sauce and other processed products.

The relevant agencies will be prepared to assist farmers in processing and marketing, including stabilizing chili prices.

According to the Regent, water problems are the main obstacle faced by Blora farmers.

Therefore, his party asked the relevant agencies to map the existing potential, such as the construction of reservoirs, drilled wells, and so on.

Head of the Blora Food, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Service (DP4), Ngaliman, admitted that he would prepare alternatives for farmers who have difficulty marketing their agricultural products.

Not only chilies, but also other horticultural products.

One of the things that his office has done is to help sell organic sapodilla farmers' products at every  district government event  .

"We helped with sales, thank God yesterday we sold a lot, around 300 kilograms during CFD ( car free day )," he said.

Ngaliman explained, regarding assistance in the form of water facilities for agricultural irrigation.
