INFOKU – The highest achievement was achieved by cliff runners from Blora, Central Java, Berthdigna Devi Surya Kusuma and Alfian Muhammad Fajri won gold medals in the Speed Classic Mix category at the XXI National Sports Week (PON) 2024 Aceh - North Sumatra, Thursday (19/9/2024).
The General Chairperson of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Blora, Setiyono, felt grateful for the medals won by athletes from Blora in representing Central Java (Jateng) at the biggest sporting event in Indonesia.
"KONI Blora is grateful to be able to participate in PON XXI Aceh - North Sumatra by contributing a Central Java contingent of 18 athletes and 6 officials or coaches.
"Blora athletes managed to win and contribute 1 gold medal, 6 silver and 8 bronze from various sports they participated in," he said based on his written statement, Thursday (19/9/2024).

Since the competition in a number of sports at PON 2024 began on September 3, not a single Blora athlete has won a gold medal.
Until finally on Thursday, September 19, 2024, the last Speed Classic Mix number that was competed recorded history for Blora.
Berthdigna Devi Surya Kusuma won a gold medal. This medal also matches the achievement she carved at the 2021 PON in Papua.
At that time, Bertdigna Devi won gold in the Speed Relay event with other Blora athletes, namely Agustina Sari and Grobogan rock climber Aries Susanti Rahayu.

At the 2024 XXI PON Aceh-North Sumatra, Blora sent 18 athletes to strengthen the Central Java contingent.
They appear in nine sports including Rowing, Triathlon, Drumband, Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Bodybuilding, Sambo, Rock Climbing and Athletics.
At the largest multi-sport event in Indonesia, Blora athletes have won more medals than at the 2021 PON in Papua, namely collecting one gold medal, six silver medals and eight bronze medals.
Meanwhile, at the 2021 PON in Papua, Blora athletes brought home two gold medals and two silver medals.
With this success, KONI Blora has planned to provide appreciation to Blora athletes who won medals by providing coaching funds.
According to him, the achievements of these Blora athletes will also be used as evaluation material in athlete development in the future.

"Especially in facing the 2025 Central Java Porprov Qualification and the 2026 Central Java Porprov," he explained.
