H minus 1, Blora DP4 Team Ready to Go to Check the Health of Sacrificial Animals

INFOKU, BLORA -Head of the Food, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Service (DP4) of Blora Regency, Ngaliaman, stated that his party had formed a team to monitor the health of sacrificial animals ahead of Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijriah.

"DP4 has formed a health monitoring team for victim animals chaired by the Head of the Animal Health Division (Keswan) drh. Rasmiyana. "The main task of the health team is to check the health of the sacrificial animals and accompany the slaughtering and inspection of the sacrificial meat during the sacrifice in each sub-district, involving all medical and paramedical staff," he explained in Blora, Wednesday (5/6/2024).

According to him, what animal inspectors need to be wary of are infectious animal diseases, namely Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) and Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD).

"Even though in Blora Regency both diseases are under control, anticipatory steps are needed. "So we have started to aggressively carry out inspections of sacrificial animals prepared for Eid al-Adha, especially health checks on sacrificial animal collectors," he explained.

He said, later on H-1 of Eid al-Adha, officers will be deployed in 16 sub-districts to assist in health checks for sacrificial animals.

Apart from that, we will check that the sacrificial meat that will be distributed to residents is safe to consume.

"So we carry out a physical examination of the outside of the animal before it is slaughtered (antemortem) and an examination of the inside of the animal after it is slaughtered (postmortem)," he explained.

Not required to go to RPH

So it is highly recommended that every animal that will be used for sacrifice be equipped with an Animal Health Certificate (SKKH).

According to him, the slaughter of sacrificial animals does not have to be carried out in the RPH (Slaughterhouse) but can be done in housing and village/district environments. At the slaughterhouse there is an animal slaughterer (Juleha) who has been certified by the Ministry of Religion.

The Blora Regency Government has 2 RPHs, namely the RPH in Kamolan Village, Blora District, and the RPH in Cepu District.

Meanwhile, unproductive female livestock may be slaughtered as long as they are accompanied by a Certificate of Reproduction Status (SKSR) as regulated in Law Number 41 of 2014 (Article 86 a and Article 86 b).

This certificate is issued by a veterinarian or appointed officer under the supervision of a veterinarian. "SKSR can be obtained from a veterinarian at the nearest Puskeswan," he said.

From his observations, the atmosphere at the cattle and goat markets in Blora Regency is increasingly dynamic, fun and entertaining.

"On market days, the average pound of cattle bought and sold is almost 800 cattle. Some of the results of cattle purchases are taken by traders to be resold to big cities such as Solo, Semarang and Jakarta," he explained.

Apart from the pound market in Blora sub-district, there are a number of other animal markets, namely the pahing market in Randublatung, the Jepon and Kunduran goat markets at the pahing and kliwon markets. (Endah)
