The Regent asks for input from the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, Unnes Professors as an effort to maximize Blora's potential

INFOKU -  Blora Regent Arief Rohman submitted a request for advice, input and support from the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (Kemenko Ekonomi) and professors at Semarang State University (Unnes) to optimize the potential of his region.

"We look forward to this support to improve the economy and community welfare," he said in a press release, Saturday (27/4/2024).

Arief made this statement when chairing a Coordination Meeting (Rakor) with the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, the Deputy for Commerce and Industry Coordination, and a number of Unnes professors at the Padma Hotel Semarang, Friday (26/4/2024).

Apart from asking for support, this activity also discussed regional competitiveness in Central Java, especially Blora Regency. Arief said that Blora has several superior potentials, including teak wood, natural gas oil and other agricultural potential.

"Blora has the largest cattle breeding potential in Central Java and the second largest in Indonesia," he added.

On the same occasion, the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy presented 10 indicators of the Regional Competitiveness Index (IDSD), including economic carrying capacity, fiscal capacity, life expectancy, internet coverage and labor productivity. 

Apart from that, there are the number of base transceiver station (BTS) towers, the number of financial service facilities, the number of economic facilities, the number of strategic economic areas, and the distance to the port.

Of the 10 indicators, Blora Regency is in 25th position out of 35 districts or cities in Central Java with an index of 3.21 points from a value of 0-10

Responding to this, the Regent of Blora said that his party together with the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno were preparing the Greater Cepu Economic Zone which included the eastern part of Blora and the western part of Bojonegoro.

The Regent supports and hopes that there will be further studies regarding the potential of industrial areas in Blora Regency to support the country's economy and welcome Golden Indonesia 2045.

To follow up on this coordination meeting, Deputy for Commerce and Industry Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy Ali Murtopo Simbolon plans to form a working team specifically to discuss industrial potential in Blora.

For information, the coordination meeting was also attended by officials from the Blora Regency Government (Pemkab), including the Assistant for Economy and Development, Head of the Investment and One Stop Integrated Services Service (DPMPTSP), Head of the Food, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fishery Service (DP4).
