Village officials in Blora distribute T-shirts for DPR members, this is the Regent's comment

INFOKU, BLORA - Blora Regent Arief Rohman spoke out regarding village officials in his area who were seen handing out t-shirts of members of the DPR RI to mothers. 

The action of village officials distributing the t-shirts was recorded in a video which then became a hot topic of public discussion.

Regarding the presence of village officials who carried out this action, Arief Rohman then ordered the sub-district and community and village empowerment (PMD) services to immediately carry out an inspection.

"Yes, I have assigned the sub-district head and PMD to research later and we will report further," said Arief when met by journalists at his official residence hall, Tuesday (19/12/2023) evening

He also continues to warn village heads and village officials to maintain neutrality during the implementation stages of the 2024 election campaign.

"I ask this because of the campaign atmosphere, so that ASN and village officials can position themselves that if they have a choice, that's fine, but please maintain their neutrality," he explained.

Previously it was reported that a 14-second video circulating showing a village official in Blora, Central Java, distributing t-shirts of members of the DPR RI, became a hot topic of public discussion.

In the video, village officials wearing hats are clearly seen distributing T-shirts to mothers who attended an activity. The Head of Japah Village, Yuswanto, said the incident occurred Tuesday, December 19 2023 and was not a campaign event.

"So it's not a campaign, so the story is that I inaugurated the MSME office which was assisted by the DPR RI, Mrs. Evita from PDI-P," said Yuswanto at a press conference, Wednesday (20/12/2023). 

Meanwhile, regarding the village officials who participated in distributing T-shirts for members of the DPR RI, Yuswanto admitted that it was true that his village officials did this.

"Then there was a distribution of T-shirts, I didn't expect it, I didn't expect there to be a distribution of T-shirts. So why did I share my equipment, but there was no campaign at all," he said. 

"Then in the end the women wore the t-shirts, but there was a warning from the sub-district supervisory supervisor, then they were told to take them off. Until the event was finished the t-shirts were not worn again," he added. (Endah IST )
