Cepu Hit by Floods, 660 Houses Submerged in Water

INFOKU, Cepu, BLORA - Floods that occurred in Cepu District, Blora Regency on Wednesday (13/12/2023) evening caused hundreds of the house was submerged in water.

Based on data from BPBD Blora Regency, the flood started from heavy rain in the Cepu area and its surroundings. As a result of this heavy rain, the Ngareng and Taman Siswa rivers overflowed and submerged 660 residents' houses in four sub-districts.

As a result, as many as 107 houses in Cepu sub-district were flooded with a height of 30-100 cm, including the Cepu sub-district office facilities were also submerged in water as high as 50 cm.

Apart from Cepu Village, the Balun Village area was also submerged in water due to the overflow of the Taman Siswa river.

At least 350 houses were flooded with a height of 50-150 cm.

In this area, the sub-district access road was also flooded for 500 meters and the bridge connecting the hamlet in the Megalrejo area and the BRI housing complex collapsed.

The impact of the flood that occurred also submerged the sub-district access road along 500 meters, and the connecting bridge between hamlets in the Megalrejo area and the BRI housing complex collapsed.

"The walls of the Grand Maharani housing complex collapsed along 25 meters and tamarind trees fell, blocking access to the sub-district road,"; said blora Regency BPBD TRC team member, Agung Triyono in his statement, Thursday (14/12/2023).

Meanwhile in Tambakromo Village, the flood submerged 125 houses with a height of 50-100 cm.

"In Karangboyo Village, floodwaters as high as 50-100 cm submerged 78 houses, two schools and one public facility," said Agung.

 He said that the BPBD BLORA TRC Team had carried out assessments and data collection, as well as evacuating residents affected by the flood.
