INFOKU, BLORA – According to the schedule for determining the district minimum wage (UMK), it will begin to be discussed this month.
The calculation is estimated to continue to refer to regional economic growth.
The labor union in Blora hopes there will be a significant increase compared to last year.
Head of Industrial Relations and Social Security, Blora Industry and Manpower Service (Dinperinaker), Nunuk Nurul Hidayah, said that the determination of this year's UMK is still waiting for a decision.
Currently the discussion process is with the Central Java Provincial Government.
"Monday (6/11) we were invited to discuss MSEs in Solo by the provincial government, together with other districts," he said.

Nunuk explained that this year's UMK calculation is estimated to still use the same scheme as last year. Using references from regional economic growth, including inflation.
"We have not invited the labor unions. After discussions in the province are over, we will then hold a meeting with the regional wage council," he explained.
Chairman of the Congress of the Alliance of Indonesian Trade Unions (KASBI) Blora Pujo revealed that his union is currently conducting a study of the UMK this year.
The party does not yet have a position on determining the percentage increase that workers want. However, his party stressed that it should not only increase by 7 percent.

"Last year demands increased by 10 percent, realization rose by 7 percent. We hope this year it will be even bigger," he explained.
He argued that the need for workers increases every year. Apart from that, it is felt that calculations using a scheme like last year are not fair for workers. Because it is only based on formulas and data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).
"We think that is unfair, all elements of labor must be involved in the counting process," he said.
Chairman of the Federation of Cigarette, Tobacco, Food and Beverage Workers' Unions (FSPRTMM-SPSI) Blora Mahmudah hopes that this year's UMK determination will be greater than last year.

Apart from that, the discussion must also involve all labor unions in the region.
This year's UMK is IDR 2,040,080, an increase of 7.14 percent or IDR 135,883 from last year. (Endah/ IST )
